JVC joins forces with Zetron
JVC and Kenwood will establish a joint holding company – JVC Kenwood Holdings – to support management integration between the two companies. This aims to create
the benefit of synergy between the two companies, creating and expanding the corporate value.
Since May 2007 Zetron has been a subsidiary of Kenwood Corporation of Japan and through this organisation structure has established co-operation with JVC. Specifically Zetron and the CCTV Europe division at JVC Professional Europe within JVC have identified significant opportunities for close co-operation through the common offer of control room solutions. JVC Professional Europe is a leading supplier of analogue and IP CCTV systems including high quality and durable PTZ and static camera products, high-resolution LCD and CRT monitors and network video recorder products. JVC’s CCTV products are used extensively by many of Zetron's customers in Public Safety and Security, Transportation, Business and Industry across the globe.
The International security community is going through a transition from analogue to IP networks where CCTV video data is distributed over existing IP networks. In this way video data can be managed and accessed by control room operators either on site or remote from the CCTV network. Zetron and JVC are co-operating by supporting the integration of video and voice communication services at the operator console, this will enable control room operators to simultaneously and conveniently access video and voice services. Control room operators will typically already make use of CCTV video and voice communications and the integration can enhance their effectiveness in managing day to day operations and mission critical incidents.
Zetron's control room systems can add video presentation alongside telephone
and radio access. The operator can access and control live and recorded video data while handling telephone and radio communications. For example, a call from a gate
phone can activate the local CCTV feed so the operator can see the person calling. Or the operator can see the person who is calling on a radio, perhaps to assess the callers
situation or the incident being reported providing the operator with more information to deal with the incident. When linked with the voice logging capability of the control
room system, the operator can access recorded CCTV video footage and match the recorded video with the voice.
